Linn Energy yesterday priced $1 billion in new notes through a 144a private placement. The offering was increased in size from an originally planned $750 million.

Dell has priced $1.5 billion of senior unsecured notes in three parts. The transaction consists of three-, five- and 30-year maturities.

Winston & Strawn LLP announced today that it has significantly expanded its M&A, securities, private equity, and finance capabilities on the West Coast with the addition of C. James Levin and Warren Loui, who have joined the firm's Los Angeles office as partners. Levin joins Winston from O'Melveny & Myers LLP, where he was a partner in and former co-chair of the firm's M&A/Private Equity practices. Loui comes to Winston from Mayer Brown LLP, where he was a partner in its banking and finance department, and the Los Angeles Finance practice leader.

Burlington Northern Santa Fe, LLC, a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway, priced $750 million in new notes yesterday. The issuance was in two parts: $250 million in 10-year notes and $500 million in 30-year notes. Berkshire Hathaway does not guarantee the debt.

Incapital LLC and Goldman Sachs & Co. today announced an exclusive agreement for the sale of new issue municipal bonds through Incapital's distribution network of over 600 broker dealers, bank trust departments, asset managers and Registered Investment Advisors.
