Injured Lallana to miss England's World Cup qualifiers

Jürgen Klopp confirmed Adam Lallana and Dejan Lovren suffered groin injuries in the 2-1 victory over Swansea City - but is hopeful the pair will be available to face Manchester United after the worldwide break.

The Liverpool midfielder was treated by the club's physio after injuring his groin while being caught in possession in the Sky Sports lunchtime kick-off at the Liberty Stadium.

Liverpool's fourth consecutive Premier League win came at a cost, as Lallana was taken off in the first half and Lovren concluded the game in some discomfort.

"Dejan was one of the last moments of the game".

"He has no chance for the national team", said Reds boss Jurgen Klopp.

Pentagon announces plans to 'sharpen' military capacity in Asia-Pacific
Carter is due to host defence ministers from southeast Asian countries in Hawaii this week, including the Philippines. U.S. officials said this week that they had not seen formal requests from the Philippines to stop the joint patrols.

Lallana, 28, scored England's victor in their opening Group F fixture against Slovakia but will not be available for the games against Malta on 8 October and Slovenia on 11 October.

"But hopefully 15 or 16 days should be enough to bring him back on the pitch".

Adam Lallana was forced off with a groin injury against Swansea City. "These things can happen".

Liverpool were trailing 1-0 when the 28-year-old, who had scored four goals in eight appearances before today, hobbled off, but eventually cancelled out Leroy Fer's opener and notched a fifth successive win in all competitions courtesy of a header from Roberto Firmino and a late James Milner penalty. "The pitch was a little bit wet, of course, so things like this can happen", continued the German, hoping that neither player will be sidelined for the long term.
